These coaches are now eligible to receive the WHoopDirt.com National Coach of the Year Award presented by Just Play Solutions which will be announced at the conclusion of the 2022-23 college basketball season.
This is the fourth season that WHoopDirt.com has run the Coach of the Week and Coach of the Year programs. The list of 2022-23 Coach of the Week winners, as well as previous Coach of the Year winners can be found below this week’s recipients

NCAA D1: Katie Geralds – Purdue University
| Weekly Record (Overall): 2-0 (15-6) |
| Past week’s results: 62-52 W at #22 Illinois, 73-65 W at #2 Ohio State. |
| Highlights: Big-time week for Geralds and her Boilermakers, as they knocked off two top-ten teams on the road. The win at #22 Illinois on Thursday was the first road win vs a ranked opponent for Purdue since 2018. Sunday’s win at #2 Ohio State was the first-ever for the Boilermakers vs a top-5 ranked opponent on the road. |
NCAA D2: Beth Jillson – Texas Woman’s University
| Weekly Record (Overall): 2-0 (19-1) |
| Past week’s results: 73-56 W vs Oklahoma Christian, 87-58 W vs Arkansas Fort Smith. |
| Highlights: Two more dominant wins for #4 TWU last week, as they run their winning streak to 17-games. The Pioneers are now 14-0 in the Lonestar Conference, and have not lost a game on the road this season (7-0). |
NCAA D3: Keith Mondillo – Gwynedd Mercy University
| Weekly Record (Overall): 2-0 (11-9) |
| Past week’s results: 80-50 W vs Centenary, 84-83 (OT) W at Immaculata. |
| Highlights: After blowing out Centenary to start the week, Mondillo earned the 500th win of his career on Saturday in GMU’s OT win at Immaculata. Mondillo is now 500-237, is tied for 61st in winning percentage (.678) and 19th in wins (500) among active DIII women’s basketball coaches. |
NAIA: Steve Edwards – Brewton-Parker College
| Weekly Record (Overall): 2-0 (17-5) |
| Past week’s results: 71-46 W vs Faulkner, 60-58 W at Stillman. |
| Highlights: Edwards squad, currently in 3rd in the SSAC blew out SSAC #2 Faulkner to start the week. BPC then knocked Stillman 60-58 on the road on Saturday to extend their winning streak to 8. |
JUCO: Jason Bonde – Rochester Community & Technical College
| Weekly Record (Overall): 2-0 (16-0) |
| Past week’s results: 87-79 W at #3 Minnesota West, 108-30 W vs Ridgewater. |
| Highlights: RCTC, the #1 ranked NJCAA D3 team in the country had a big win at #3 Minnesota West last Wednesday to keep their record perfect on the season. On Saturday, they beat Ridgewater by 78 to run their record to 16-0. The Yellowjackets are averaging 95 points per game on the season. |
