Congratulations to the following coaches who have been selected as the Week 10 WHoopDirt.com Coach of the Week presented by Just Play Solutions. These coaches are now eligible to receive the WHoopDirt.com National Coach of the Year Award presented by Just Play Solutions which will be announced at the conclusion of the 2022-23 college basketball season.
This is the fourth season that WHoopDirt.com has run the Coach of the Week and Coach of the Year programs. The list of 2022-23 Coach of the Week winners, as well as previous Coach of the Year winners can be found below this week’s recipients

The Week 10 winners are:
NCAA D1: Jacie Hoyt – Oklahoma State
Weekly Record (Overall): 2-0 (13-4) |
Past week’s results: 70-65 W at #18 Baylor, 80-70 W vs TCU. |
Highlights: To open the week, Hoyt led OSU to their first win at Baylor since 2008, and first vs a ranked opponent since January 2020. The Cowgirls also snapped a 14-game losing streak to Baylor, which dated back to 2015. In Saturday’s win vs TCU, OSU tied the program record with 14 made 3’s. Hoyt’s squad is now on a 3-game winning streak, and have moved to 3-2 in the Big 12. |
NCAA D2: Justin Payne – Georgia Southwestern
Weekly Record (Overall): 2-0 (14-1) |
Past week’s results: 67-52 W vs Flagler, 75-72 W at USC Aiken. |
Highlights: Payne’s #10 Hurricanes have now won 11 straight games and have moved to 8-0 at home on the season. They are also 6-0 in the Peach Belt Conference, and sit alone atop the conference standings in first place. |
NCAA D3: Randi Henderson – Washington University in St. Louis
Weekly Record (Overall): 2-0 (10-4) |
Past week’s results: 89-59 W vs Brandeis, 57-56 W vs #1 NYU. |
Highlights: After blowing out league foe Brandeis on Friday, Henderson’s Bears knocked off the #1 D3 team in the nation on Sunday. Down 8 entering the fourth, WashU outscored NYU 19-10 to secure the upset. The Bears are now 3-0 in UAA play, and have won 4 in a row. |
NAIA: Kellie Kennedy – Loyola University New Orleans
Weekly Record (Overall): 3-0 (16-0) |
Past week’s results: 82-58 W vs Xavier, 95-55 W vs Blue Mountain Christian, 72-48 W vs Stillman. |
Highlights: The #9 team in the country remained undefeated (16-0) with three more wins last week. The 16-game winning streak to open the season matches the best in program history. The Wolf Pack are also 9-0 and in first place in the Southern States Athletic Conference. |
JUCO: Olivia Gaines – Richard Bland College of William & Mary

Past week’s results: 92-60 W at Fayetteville Tech, 85-58 W at Wake Tech, 83-74 W at Denmark Tech. |
Highlights: The inaugural season for women’s basketball at RBC has been a memorable one for Gaines and her Statesmen. They have yet to lose a game on the season – winning 14 straight to start, including 7-0 in their conference, and 7-0 at home. RBC is also averaging 94.3 ppg while only allowing 54.2ppg. |
