Omaha head women’s basketball coach Brittany Lange announced the promotion of Sadie Murren as the Mavericks’ assistant coach. Murren has been serving as the team’s director of basketball operations since August 2015.
“I couldn’t be more thrilled to introduce Coach Murren as our assistant,” said Lange. “Sadie truly is one of the bright minds and leaders of her generation in this profession, and she continues to impress me daily with her maturity, knowledge of the game and work-ethic.”
Murren started her playing career at Nebraska before finishing at Wayne State. In her two seasons with the Wildcats, she received the NSIC Myles Brand All-Academic with Distinction Award, was named to the NSIC Winter All-Academic Team and was placed on the Northern Sun All-Tournament Team.
“I am thrilled about this opportunity,” said Murren. “The university, athletic department, and women’s basketball program are top notch, and I am very fortunate to be a part of it. Coach Lange has done a phenomenal job building this program. I look forward to continuing to help it grow in my new position.”
Murren received her bachelor’s degree in business administration in May 2016 from Wayne State and is working toward her master’s degree from UNO in business administration.
“The passion and energy she has for the game and others are undeniable and contagious,” said Lange. “We are excited about the impact Coach Murren will have on our players, the program, and future Mavericks we aim to bring to Omaha.”
