Tim Connealy Resigns as Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Chadron State

Tim Connealy has tendered his resignation, effective June 30, 2016, from the position of Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Chadron State College, according to Athletic Director Joel Smith.

“Chadron State College appreciates Tim’s tenure and wishes him well with his future endeavors,” said Smith.

Connealy coached the Eagles for eight seasons, compiling a record of 58-152. In his most recent season, Connealy led CSC to a record of 8-18 (8-14 RMAC).

Connealy coached nine all-conference players including All-American Kaitlin Petri in 2011-12. He was also on the sidelines for two of Chadron State’s 1,000 point scorers and has coached three of the top 10 scorers in school history.

In 2010 and again in 2011, his teams finished No. 2 in the nation for team grade point average in the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Team Academic Honor Roll. Connealy had six academic all-conference selections, and Petri was a Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-American in 2011-12. In addition, he had 30 academic honor roll mentions.

“I’d like to thank Dr. Randy Rhine for his commitment to athletics in general and the women’s basketball program,” said Connealy. “I appreciate the work of Joel (Smith) and all the other administrators who had a hand in getting the funding for this program where it needed to be the last couple of years. I’d also like to thank my fellow coaches for the support they’ve given me while I’ve been here.”

“Chadron is a special place that I’ve called home for thirty years, and the support of the Chadron community made the experience very enjoyable. I’ll always have a special place in my heart for the CSC athletic programs and I wish the best for the women’s basketball program going forward.”

Connealy, a Chadron native, played two seasons on the men’s basketball team at Chadron State.

Smith said a national search will be conducted to fill the head women’s basketball coach position.
