D2 NEWS: Raymer out as Head Coach at Chadron State

Janet Raymer will no longer be performing the duties as the Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Chadron State College, effective immediately, Athletic Director Joel Smith announced Tuesday.

“I want to thank Janet for her service,” Smith said. “I wish her success in her future endeavors.”

Raymer coached the Eagles for seven years, compiling a record of 35-145. In 2022-23, the Eagles finished 4-24 overall and 4-18 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

Raymer coached three all-conference players during her time at CSC, including Shay Powers, who was named first team all-conference this past season. Kalli Feddersen received second team honors in both 2016-17 and 2017-18.

A total of 43 student-athletes received RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll honors during Raymer’s tenure. The women’s basketball team finished in the top half of the conference for team GPA during each of the past seven seasons.

Raymer, a Hay Springs native, played two seasons on the women’s basketball team at Chadron State. She also served as an assistant coach before becoming head coach.

A national search for CSC’s next head women’s basketball coach will begin immediately.
