Ortmeier named new Head Women’s Basketball at Iowa Central CC

Iowa Central has found a new head women’s basketball coach, hiring Brian Ortmeier to replace Kelly Kruger.

Kruger announced his retirement from the position following the season.

Ortmeier comes to the Tritons following a four-year stint as the head coach at Laramie County CC. The Golden Eagles finished this past season 18-13 overall, their second consecutive winning season.

Prior to his time with Laramie County, Ortmeier served as the head coach at Colorado Northwestern Community College for two seasons and also spent time at Dakota State University and McPherson College.

Ortmeier, a 2009 graduate of the University of Nebraska, worked on the University of Richmond women’s basketball team staff for one season. He obtained his Master’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2010.
