Ranger College women’s basketball has welcomed one of its own back to the program, as former Ranger student-athlete She’Ray Wilson has joined the coaching staff as an assistant coach.
Wilson, a Ranger College alumna who began her collegiate playing career with the Rangers from 2019-21, joined Head Coach Bill Foy’s staff in July 2026. In her new role, she will assist with all aspects of the program, including recruiting, player development, scouting, practice planning, academic monitoring, and game preparation.
For Wilson, the opportunity represents a return to the place that helped launch both her academic and athletic journey.
A native of Euless, Texas, Wilson attended Colleyville Heritage High School before beginning her collegiate career at Ranger College. During her two years at Ranger, Wilson distinguished herself both as a student-athlete and in the classroom. She was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa and earned recognition on both the Dean’s List and President’s List.
Following her time at Ranger, Wilson continued her academic and athletic career at Hardin-Simmons University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Fitness, Recreation, and Sport Management.
Wilson competed in both basketball and track & field during her time at Hardin-Simmons. On the basketball court, she earned Academic All-District honors and was selected to the American Southwest Conference All-Defensive Team. Her athletic success extended to track & field, where she captured the ASC Triple Jump Championship and set Hardin-Simmons’ outdoor school record in the event.
Wilson’s educational journey later took her overseas to Cardiff Metropolitan University in Cardiff, Wales, where she earned a Master of Science in Sport Coaching. Her graduate studies further developed her knowledge of athlete development, coaching leadership, and performance.
Now, Wilson brings those experiences back to Ranger College as she begins the next chapter of her career on the sidelines.
Her return also provides current Ranger student-athletes with a coach who understands firsthand the opportunities and challenges that come with beginning a collegiate career at Ranger College and using that experience as a foundation for future success.
As an alumna, Wilson is committed to helping develop the next generation of Rangers both on and off the court while giving back to the program that played an important role in her own development.
