Gulf Coast State College is searching again for a new head women’s basketball coach, as Kathy McConnell-Miller ha withdrawn her acceptance of the position. According to a report from WJHG, McConnell-Miller cited “personal reasons” for backing out of the position that she accepted back in early July.

“While we are disappointed, we wish Coach McConnell-Miller the best,” said Katie McCurdy, executive director of community engagement for the college. “We will re-open the search and all previous candidates are still under consideration and need not re-apply.

A meet and greet scheduled for yesterday with McConnell-Miller and the community was cancelled.
