Drury University Head Women’s Basketball Coach Molly Miller has been named as the WHoopDirt.com NCAA D2 Coach of the Year presented by Pivot Analysis for the 2019-20 college basketball season. Miller qualified for the award by being named as the WHoopDirt.com/Pivot Analysis Coach of the Week for Week 4 of the season.
Coach Miller guided Drury to yet another historic campaign, finishing 32-0 and outscoring opponents by 28.5 points per game. The Lady Panthers won 29 of their 32 games by double-digits, and finished the season as the No. 1 team in the WBCA Coaches’ Poll.
Drury was 29-0 in regular season play, marking their second straight undefeated regular season. The Lady Panthers most recently ran through the GLVC Tournament, winning all three contests by at least 21 on the way to the title. The GLVC championship was the fourth consecutive for Coach Miller’s squad. Had the National Tournament been played, No. 1 seeded Drury would have faced off against 8th seeded Lindenwood in the opening round.
Coach Miller garnered a lot of recognition for her efforts this season. She was named the GLVC Coach of the Year for the second season in a row, and picked up multiple national awards. Miller was recognized as the World Exposure Report NCAA Division II Coach of the Year. For the second consecutive year, she was honored as the US Marine Corps/WBCA NCAA Division II Coach of the Year. In her six seasons with Drury, Coach Miller has amassed a record of 180-17, including 105-5 in the GLVC. Over the last two seasons, her teams have gone 67-1.
