Werner named Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Harvard

The Friends of Harvard Women’s Basketball Head Coach, Kathy Delaney-Smith, announced the hiring of Lindsay Werner as an assistant coach. Werner joins the Crimson after lettering for four years at Merrimack College.

“We are thrilled to have Lindsay join our staff,” said Delaney-Smith. “She comes to Harvard with a strong playing background and has a great passion for the game that is contagious. We are very excited for Lindsay to work with and share her enthusiasm with our players.”

A standout guard during her time at Merrimack, Werner finished her career with 1,120 points, ranking 16th all-time in program history. A two-time NE10 All-Conference selection her junior and senior seasons, Werner set the Merrimack career record for three-pointers made with 190. She averaged 1.86 three-pointers per game over her career and shot 33.9 percent from the three-point range. Starting in 29 games as a senior, Werner set the single season record for three-pointers made with 70.

A native of Groton, Mass., Werner graduated from Merrimack with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science in 2019. While with the Warriors, she served on the Merrimack Student Athlete Advisory Committee and as the NE10 Player Representative.
