Parker hired as Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Niagara

Niagara women’s basketball Head Coach Tiara Johnson announced the hiring of Angel Parker as Assistant Coach.

Parker returns to Niagara after stops at Daemen and Buffalo State as an assistant coach. She was a focal point of the Purple Eagles 2022-23 and 2023-24 WNIT teams and was a four-time All-MAAC player at Niagara from 2020-2024.

“Hiring Angel Parker was a priority because she understands what it means to wear Niagara across your chest,” Johnson said, “She knows the tradition, embodies the values of this university, and represents Niagara with class and integrity every day. More importantly, she knows what it takes to be part of a culture that builds something special, competes for championships, and hangs banners. Having her alongside me ensures that the legacy of those who came before us remains a vital part of where we are going next.”

Parker sits eighth in Purple Eagles history with 1,426 points. She also holds the program records for steals in a game (11), in a season (116) and career (344) along with the career record in games played (126), while sitting fourth in assists with 430.

“This program has always been home to me and has given me some of my best memories,” Parker said, “I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to return as an assistant coach and invest in our players the same way this program invested in me. I am excited to work alongside our coaching staff and contribute to its continued success.”
