First year women’s basketball head coach Katie Greene is pleased to announce the addition of her three assistant coaches for the 2015-2016 basketball season.
Coach Greene and the athletic department would like to welcome Kristen Audet-Fucarile, Carly Wellington, and Sarah Briggs to the Mount Ida family and to Mustang City. All three bring a wealth of coaching and playing experience to the table.
With the addition of these three assistant coaches, Coach Greene and the women’s basketball team are eager to get the 2015 season going. Greene was able to coach Audet-Fucarile and Wellington during their last years in college and Coach Greene is very excited to have them on staff. Briggs had previously been on Greene’s staff for six years at nearby Newbury College.
Coach Greene spoke about each of her new assistant coaches:
“The addition of Kristen to the coaching staff provides a former GNAC player’s insight on the league and also years of head coaching experience. Kristen was one of the best point guards to come out of Simmons College and was coached by my mentor Tony Price for four years. I had the honor of coaching Kristen at Simmons her senior season and witnessed firsthand her amazing basketball talent and pure leadership skills. Kristen will be our recruiting coordinator and will be working with the guards.”
“Carly is a very exciting addition to the coaching staff, coming off a solid career at Brown University and her local connection to AAU programs and the City of Boston make her a key member of the staff. I had the honor of coaching Carly in her final and best season statistically at Brown and she is one of the hardest working players I know. Carly will look after our team’s academic success and will also be our primary post/forwards coach.”
“I’m very excited for the return of Sarah to my staff, she was on the sidelines with me for six years and her knowledge of the statistical details of the game is incredible. She will be a great addition to the coaching staff and will have a primary responsibility of game strategy and statistical breakdowns.”
