McNeese State Women’s Basketball Staff Update

McNeese head women’s basketball coach Lynn Kenney has announced the addition of Sydney Schultz and Le’Shenae Stubblefield to his 2023-24 staff.  Schultz will serve as an Assistant Coach while Stubblefield will serve as Director of Operations.

A Mayville, Wisconsin native, Schultz was a four-year letterwinner at Portland State where she played in 103 games, was a three-time Academic All-Big Sky selection and served as the team’s co-captain for two seasons (2022, 2023).

During her collegiate career, Schultz was nominated and invited to numerous coaching mentorship programs. Schultz was also a member of the “WBCA So You Want to Be a Coach” program in 2023.

While at Mayville High she recorded over 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds, becoming the school’s career leader in both categories. During the 2018-19 season, Schultz lead the entire state of Wisconsin in rebounding, averaging 16.2 rebounds per game.

Schultz has worked many hours as a volunteer coach. While in high school, she was the Mayville Middle School Girls Basketball Coach from 2015-2018. Along with that came numerous hours of being a coach for local girls’ basketball camps.

Schultz completed her undergraduate studies at Portland State with a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management and a minor in Psychology.

Stubblefield is a native of Delhi, La., and a 2023 McNeese graduate. The two-year Cowgirl letterwinner played in 80 career games and averaged 6.5 ppg., 2.7 rpg., 1.3 apg., and 1.8 spg.  In her senior season she led McNeese with 78 steals for an average of 2.5 per contest.

Prior to McNeese, she spent two seasons at LSU-Eunice where she helped the Bengals to two regional tournaments.  In her final season at LSUE, she led the team with 107 steals, averaged 12.3 ppg. and 5.4 rpg.  She was also a first team all-conference selection as well as being named to the all-defensive team.
