Lindenwood Women’s Basketball Brings in Two New Coaching Additions

Lindenwood women’s basketball head coach Katie Falco announced the addition of two assistant coaches heading into the 2022-23 season. Falco added fresh perspectives to the staff by bringing in Chrissy Roberts and Nick Morgan.

“I am thrilled to have both Chrissy & Nick join this program,” said Falco. “Their wealth of experience, passion for the game and their ability to connect to our student-athletes will be instrumental as we begin our D1 era. The energy and excitement they have to be at Lindenwood is awesome. I can’t wait to see the positive impact they will make.”

Roberts comes to Lindenwood after two years as the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at the University of Indianapolis, where she specialized in defensive operations and scouting for the Greyhounds. Before UIndy, Roberts was the Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Division I Eastern Kentucky University for 11 seasons beginning back in 2008. Under Roberts’ direction, EKU reached the OVC Tournament Championship game two seasons in a row (2015-16 and 2016-17), which was something that had only been accomplished one other time in program history.

Roberts began her coaching career back in 1999 at Tennessee Technology University as the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach and Recruiting Coordinator. Roberts then went on to become the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at EKU until 2002 before moving into the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach role at East Carolina University all the way through 2008.

As a player, Roberts was the 1998 Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year and a nominee for the 1998 NCAA Woman of the Year. She was also inducted into both the DAWAHARES/KHSAA Hall of Fame in 2020 and the Eastern Kentucky Hall of Fame in 2007 for her outstanding athletic achievements. Roberts received two degrees during her time at Eastern Kentucky- her Master of Science in Sports Administration in 1999 and Bachelor of Science in Sports Supervision in 1998.

Morgan arrived at Lindenwood after spending the previous season working at Division I Coastal Carolina University, where he acted as both the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach as well as the Recruiting Coordinator. Prior to Coastal Carolina Morgan was the Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Division III Blackburn College from 2019-21. Under Morgan’s leadership, the Beavers made their first appearance in the SLIAC postseason tournament since their 2007-08 season. Illinois Central College and Beloit College were also stops on Morgan’s extensive coaching journey thus far, where he took on Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach roles for both programs, working heavily in the recruiting realm for each team.

Morgan kick-started his coaching back at Southern Illinois University in 2013, where he was the Team Manager and Scout Liaison through 2014. Morgan also spent years gaining valuable experience coaching various youth basketball camps as well, striving to be as well-rounded as possible in the coaching world.

As a member of the basketball team at Illinois Central Community College from 2008-2011, Morgan built a foundation as a player to continue his career on a basketball scholarship at NAIA Judson University from 2011-12 to cap off his playing experience. Morgan earned his Bachelor of Liberal Arts from Southern Illinois University in 2014 after receiving his Associates Degree from Illinois Central in 2011 and studying business administration and marketing while playing at Judson.
