Description:

The Head Women’s Basketball Coach is a 12-month position working in the Department of Athletics. Joining a dedicated team of coaches and mentors within the department, this position will strive to promote student success both on and off the court. The Head Coach of Women’s Basketball directs all aspects of the intercollegiate basketball team including coaching, recruiting, scheduling, program administration and budgeting. Additional responsibilities may include performing administrative duties as assigned at the discretion of the Director of Athletics.

This position is also responsible for the administration of all phases of the varsity program in accordance with guidelines from Bowdoin College, the NCAA, and NESCAC. The Head Women’s Basketball Coach serves as an active and visible campus presence, serving on committees, meeting recruits, and engaging with students outside of the Department of Athletics. The Head Women’s Basketball Coach will have significant night and weekend commitments.

The Head Coach will oversee a program which practices and competes at historic Morrell Gymnasium, which is located adjacent to the Peter Buck Center for Health and Fitness. The Women’s Basketball program has a tradition of leadership across the campus community, has appeared in the last two DIII National Championship games and won the 2020 NESCAC Championship.
