Hanley tabbed as Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Bristol CC

Jay Hanley joins the Bristol Community College Bayhawk program as the Head Women’s Basketball coach for the 2019-2020 season. Jay first joined Bristol Athletics during the 2018-2019 season when he worked with the men’s basketball team as an assistant coach.  Prior to coming to Bristol, Coach Hanley was an assistant with head coach Paul Rogers at Snowden High School in the Boston City League where the team experienced much success, qualifying for the MIAA State Tourney as well as the Boston City league semi-finals.

Coach Hanley also helped turn the Case High School program into South Coast Conference co-champions during his tenure as an assistant coach. He also has coached with the Rhode Island Amateur Basketball Club AAU program where his teams and players enjoyed remarkable success on and off the court. Coach Hanley has helped over 15 players to develop into collegiate student athletes throughout New England including 5 former BayHawks.

As a player, Coach Hanley was a member of the Bishop Connolly and Westfield State basketball teams. Coach Hanley received his Bachelors and Masters in Education degrees from Endicott College. He is an elementary teacher in the Boston Public Schools and resides in Cranston,RI with his 3-year old son Zachary, 8-year old daughter Jasmine and fiancée Joanne.
