Devin Hill Named Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Roxbury Community College

Roxbury Community College Assistant Dean of Students/Director of Athletics Jelani Townsell announced the hiring of Devin Hill as the Head Women’s Basketball Coach.

“I am extremely excited and proud to be the Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Roxbury Community College” said Hill. “It is an honor to lead a program with so much tradition and respect in the Boston community. I want to thank the entire Roxbury Athletic Department and the Roxbury Administration for believing in me. I look forward to working with future RCC student athletes to help them reach their potential on and off the court.”

Devin has coached at various levels from college to high school and AAU. Most recently, Devin was the Head Regional Boys Coach and Guidance Counselor at DME Sports Academy in Daytona Beach, FL. He also was an assistant coach over the past four years for one of the top AAU programs in the Nation, the New York Gauchos Girls AAU program. In 2015 – 2017, Devin was the first assistant women’s basketball coach at Queens College. During his time at Queens College, Devin assisted with recruiting, skill development, and film exchange.

Devin had an outstanding high school and college playing career. In high school Devin was honorable mention All-American by The Sporting News… ranked as the 67th-best power forward in the nation by ESPN.com… named the Most Valuable Player of the New England Class D Championship game… a nominee for the McDonald’s All-American game… played for the New York Gauchos AAU program. Devin attended DePaul University in Chicago, IL and was a member of the men’s basketball team from 2008 – 2011. Devin is ranked 17th All-time in career blocked shots at DePaul and 7th All-time in blocked shots in a game with 6 versus Southern University on December 19th 2008.

His leadership, professionalism, and positive attitude is contagious. Devin is a great role model and without a doubt will have great success here at RCC for years to come.”

Devin earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Arizona State University and his Master’s Degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration at Concordia University Irvine.
