White resigns as Head Women’s Basketball Coach at D3 Marymount

After three seasons at the helm of Marymount women’s basketball, Margaret White has announced her resignation to pursue other opportunities.

“My time at Marymount has been extremely rewarding,” said White. “It is bittersweet to move on from a place that has meant so much to me. It was a dream come true to coach at Marymount, and I am forever grateful to our players who work so hard to represent this historic program the right way in everything that they do. I have no doubt that they will continue to have great success and I am looking forward to being their biggest fan.”

White has accepted a position as the Potomac Region Director of the Special Olympics. While at MU, she collaborated with the group on an annual service project each March that brought the entire athletics department together for the Special Olympics regional championship hosted in the Rose Bente Lee Center.

“We are beyond grateful for Coach White’s time at Marymount and are confident that she will be just as impactful for the Special Olympics as she was for us,” said Associate AD for Student-Athlete Development, Ryan Wildenhain. “We wish her all the best moving forward and look forward to strengthening our partnership with Special Olympics with Coach White’s assistance.”

Since taking the reins of the historic Marymount women’s basketball program in 2021, White led the Saints to a 61-19 mark, including a 32-2 ledger in Atlantic East play. The Saints also boasted a 37-6 record at home under White’s tutelage. Here’s a look at some of Marymount’s other accomplishments in the last three seasons:
