Southeastern Head Athletic Director Joe O’Brien has announced that Coach Lauren Bogle has been hired as the new head women’s basketball coach at Southeastern Community College. Coach Bogle replaces Chevis Thompson, who coached the Blackhawks for one season.
Bogle comes to Southeastern from John Wood Community College in Quincy, Illinois where she served as head coach for two seasons. In the past year, she led John Wood to a 17-13 overall record, and a 9-5 record in conference play. This was Bogle’s second stint with John Wood, as she was the assistant in 2019 and 2020. Between her coaching career at John Wood, Coach Bogle was head coach at Lamar Community College in Lamar, Colorado.
As a student-athlete, Coach Bogle was an NJCAA All-American at Lake Land College (Mattoon, IL) and finished her playing career at the University of South Carolina-Upstate. Bogle holds an Associate’s degree in Physical Education Lake Land College and a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of South Carolina-Upstate. In addition to her playing career in college, Bogle also played professional basketball briefly in Cusco, Peru.
