University of Wyoming Women’s Basketball Head Coach Heather Ezell has announced the elevation of Natalie Baker to assistant coach beginning in the 2023-24 season. Baker spent last season as the Director of Operations for the Cowgirls.
A former Cowgirl, Baker graduated in 2018 with her degree in Business Management and Consulting at UW before earning her Master’s in Business Administration from Colorado Mesa in 2020. A multiple-time letterwinner and Mountain West All-Academic honoree, Baker closed her Cowgirl career 18th in program history with 109 career made 3-pointers while her 522 career rebounds ranked 23rd all-time. Prior to her return to Laramie, Baker spent time coaching at Regis Jesuit High School in Colorado.
In 2022-23, Baker spent much of her time in a dual role, as both the director of ops and an assistant coach, with Ezell on Maternity Leave. Baker helped guide Wyoming to 23 victories and a 13-5 mark in Mountain West play. The Cowgirls finished second in the league standings and made an appearance in the MW Tournament Championship Game, while also making a trip to the Women’s NIT second round. A trio of Cowgirls earned All-Mountain West honors last season in Allyson Fertig, Malene Pedersen and Quinn Weidemann.
