Hall of Fame Coach Kim Muhl netted the 1,000th victory of his incredible career Saturday afternoon when the Kirkwood Eagles bopped Ellsworth, 98-32, in a women’s basketball game in Iowa Falls.
Muhl raised his record to 1,000 wins and just 168 losses in 34 years at Kirkwood, including eight NJCAA Division II national titles. He became only the third junior college women’s basketball coach with 1,000 victories.
Tasia Jordan led the Eagles with 22 points, hitting 10 of 14 shots from the field. Demetria Prewitt popped in 18 points, canning 9 of 13 shots, and snared 13 rebounds.
Alycia Patterson continued her torrid pace on 3-pointers by hitting all four of her attempts. She finished with 14 points, five assists, and four rebounds. Patterson has shot an incredible 17 of 20 on 3-pointers in her last three contests.
Emily Dreckman scored 11 points with three triples. Naya Haymon, a 5-foot guard, grabbed 10 rebounds.
Kirkwood raised its records to 22-2 overall and 12-1 in the ICCAC.
