Seattle U Women’s Basketball Adds Gildon to Coaching Staff

Seattle University women’s basketball Head Coach Suzy Barcomb has added Oti Gildon as an assistant coach to round out the Redhawks’ coaching staff for the upcoming 2022-23 season.

“We are thrilled to announce Oti Gildon as a new edition to our staff,” said Barcomb. “Oti will be instrumental in the development of our players, both on the court and in the community. Her collegiate career speaks volumes to her high basketball IQ and ability to compete at a high level, allowing her to have an immediate impact on our program, particularly with our post and forwards. Her familiarity with the Pacific Northwest in terms of recruiting will be an added benefit.”

Gildon spent the past two seasons as the Director of Creativity/Student Athlete Support at Oregon where her role included video coordination as well as camp staging and promotion.

“I am excited to join the Redhawk family,” said Gildon. “I am looking forward to getting started. The best is yet to come.”

The native of Spokane, Wash., enjoyed an illustrious playing career at Oregon, appearing in 143 games for the Ducks, the third-most in program history. A member of two PAC-12 regular season title teams (2018, 2019), Gildon finished with 583 career points and 414 rebounds. Gildon graduated with a General Social Sciences Degree in Crime, Law and Society from Oregon in 2019.

Gildon is a two-time USA Basketball 3×3 national champion (2018, 2019), representing the USA at the FIBA 3×3 World Cup during the summer of 2018 in the Phillipines.

Gildon played professionally for Lombos Quina in Portugal, averaging a double-double with 16.8 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. She was named the 2020 Portugal Eurobasketball Forward of the Year and a Eurobasketball Al-Portugese First Team Selection.
