Lees takes over as WBB Head Coach at ASU Mid-South

ASU Mid-South has named Addie Lees to take over as Head Women’s Basketball Coach.

Lees comes to the Lady Greyhounds after four outstanding years at Kilgore College (TX) where she led the Lady Rangers to a 75-42 record and three 20-win seasons culminating in a Top 25 National Ranking last year. In addition, the Plainview, Texas, native boasts a 100% graduation rate for her student-athletes with every team holding a 3.15 grade point average or above. In her first season at Kilgore, she led the program to the most overall and region wins in program history, going 22-9 overall and 13-5 in NJCAA Region 14 play. An identical 22-9 record followed her second season, and after the 2020-21 shortened COVID year, the Lady Rangers finished 21-11 in 2021-22 before falling in the Region 14 tournament semifinals for the second time.

Prior to Kilgore College, Lees spent two years as Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at NCAA Division I Texas State University located in San Marcos, where she was key in helping the Lady Bobcats to a WBI postseason tournament appearance. Lees went to Texas State after her first head coaching job at Clarendon College (TX) where she led the team to a 15-15 record in her only season at the NJCAA Region 5 school. She landed at Clarendon from another Region 5 program at Howard College in Big Spring, Texas, where she served as Assistant Coach her first year and Associate Head Coach her second season. Prior to that, Lees served as a Graduate Assistant Coach at NCAA Division II member Eastern New Mexico University where she earned her Master’s degree.

Lees playing career saw much success as the talented guard won back-to-back state championships at Plainview (TX) High School before finishing state runner-up her senior season. She then moved on to NJCAA Region 5 member Midland College (TX) for two seasons while earning her Associate’s degree before finishing her career at NCAA Division II University of Arkansas at Monticello where she earned her Bachelor’s degree with Magna Cum Laude honors.
