Holy Cross College interim athletic director and women’s basketball coach Tom Robbins has announced that Daitriona Bonds will be joining the staff as an assistant coach for the 2020-2021 season.
“I am very excited to have Daitriona join our coaching staff,” said coach Robbins. “She was a tremendous leader as a player and one of the biggest reasons for our success when I was at Ancilla College. She is young, dynamic, and full of enthusiasm. She will bring a lot to the table and has the kind of attitude we want to establish among our players.”
Bonds, an Elkhart, Ind. native, comes to Holy Cross from Elkhart Central High School, where she was an assistant coach for the girls basketball program. In her lone season there, she helped the Blue Blazers to a 15-8 overall record.
Prior to her coaching debut, Bonds played two season at Olivet College (Olivet, Mich.) and graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. She began her collegiate career playing under coach Robbins at Ancilla College, where she was a member of the women’s basketball team her freshman and sophomore seasons.
Bonds prepped at Elkhart Central High School where she graduated in 2015.
Women’s basketball opens their season at home versus the Great Lakes Christian College on Friday, October 23 in McKenna Arena.
