I have heard from a great source that the Community College of Rhode Island will hire Doug Haynes as their new head women’s basketball coach.

Haynes, a CCRI alum who played both basketball and baseball for the Knights, has most recently served as the head girls basketball coach at St. Mary’s Academy at Bay View. He will replace Brittany Brown who left CCRI to become an assistant coach on new head coach Dave Caputo’s staff at DI Delaware State earlier this fall.

An official announcement is expected shortly.
