Former Emory & Henry College women’s basketball player, Tamara Brewster, has joined the Randolph College Athletic Department as the new assistant women’s basketball coach.
“I am excited that Tamara has decided to join our staff this year,” said head women’s basketball coach Andrea Kendall. “I had the privilege of coaching Tamara during my time at Emory & Henry and she always stood out as a potential future coach.
“She loves basketball and has a passion for leading others. Her unique personality and contagious positive energy will be admired by our current players, as well as our future WildCats. She has an unmatched eagerness to learn, which I feel will help her grow as a leader and quickly become a rising star in our profession.”
A native of Morrow, Ga., Brewster was a four-year contributor for the Wasps, playing in 104 games across her career and was selected as Emory & Henry’s Breakout Athlete of the Year in 2015.
“I am beyond excited that Coach Kendall has provided me with the opportunity to begin my career as a coach in the sport that I love so much,” said Brewster. “I am excited about being part of the WildCats family and paying forward to our players what I was so blessed to receive – servant leadership.
“I’m looking forward to being a sponge and soaking up as much knowledge as possible from Coach Kendall and the rest of her staff.”
Prior to Randolph, Brewster worked as a staff trainer at the Sports Challenge Leadership Academy in Washington D.C. from 2012-16 where she helped college bound student-athletes to develop life skills such as leadership, time management and communication.
Brewster graduated from Emory & Henry in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in sport management.
