On June 8, Dakota State (S.D.) announced that Jeff Dittman will be taking a full-time role as DSU’s Athletic Director. Dittman will be stepping down as the Lady T’s basketball head coach, where he has recorded the most victories by a coach in the history of Dakota State University athletics.
Dittman accumulated a total of 296 victories during his 20 years as Lady T’s basketball head coach from 1993-2008 and 2012-17. He took DSU to six national tournament appearances, including two ‘Elite Eight’ appearances in 2000 and 2006. His teams also advanced to the ‘Sweet Sixteen’ round in 2001 and 2008.
Dittman guided the Lady T’s to five conference regular-season titles. His Lady T squad also won three conference tournament championships.
David Moe will be taking over the Lady T’s basketball head coach position. He is coming to DSU from Mayville State (N.D.), where he has been the assistant women’s basketball coach for the last ten years.
He has helped lead the Comets to multiple trips to the NAIA Division II Women’s Basketball National Tournament and ‘Top 20′ national rankings. Moe helped recruit All-American, All-Conference and All-Academic athletes on the Mayville State women’s basketball team.
His responsibilities with the Comets included recruiting coordinator, opponents’ scouting and game preparations, skill development with perimeter players and summer camps.
Moe is originally from Barnesville, Minn. and graduated from Mayville State in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and Sports Management. Along with coaching at Mayville State, he has also been an instructor in the Health, Physical Education and Recreation Division.
He received his Master of Science in Coaching Education from Ohio University in 2015.
David and his wife Sheena have three daughters – Kinsley (5), Jocey (3) and Addi (7 months). They will be residing in Madison later this summer.
