Finlandia University Athletic Director Curtis Wittenberg announced that Terry Klemett has been released from his duties with the university’s NCAA Division III women’s basketball program. This is effective immediately. Steve Nordstrom has been named interim head coach of the team. Assistant coach Marissa Burke will continue to serve as assistant coach.
“These types of changes are never easy,” Wittenberg said. “The team is aware of the situation, and we’re confident they will continue to perform, both inside the classroom and on the court, at a high level through the transition.”
According to a report by UpperMichigansSource.com, Klemett violated a school policy in an off the court incident.
The Lions play this weekend at College of St. Scholastica and University of Wisconsin-Superior.
