A former four-year starter at the NCAA Division I level, Natalie Marlowe has been named the new assistant coach for the UT Dallas women’s basketball program, announced by head coach Polly Thomason Thursday. In addition, Marlowe will serve as the assistant women’s golf coach for the Comets. She will begin her duties at UTD next month.

“I am excited to have Natalie join our family at UT Dallas,” said Thomason. “She is committed to helping our program and athletic department continue our success on and off the court.”

A native of South Milwaukee, Wis., Marlowe comes to UTD after spending the past season as an assistant coach at NCAA D-I Incarnate Word. While at UIW, Marlowe served as the program’s strength and conditioning liaison in addition coaching point guards.

Prior to her shot stint at UIW, Marlowe spent three seasons as the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at NCAA D-III Hendrix. During her time with the Warriors, Marlowe coached eight all-conference players and had 26 players named to the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Academic Honor Roll. She coached the SAA’s Defensive Player of the Year Jamie Tate in 2013-14 and mentored two SAA Newcomers of the Year in her three seasons with the program. A avid golfer, Marlowe also served as the Warriors’ assistant women’s golf coach during her tenure with the university.

Marlowe was a four-year starting guard while at Chicago State University, earning honorable mention All-Great West honors twice and second team All-Great West recognition as a senior. She helped lead the Cougars to the Great West regular-season and postseason tournament title as a junior. As a senior, Marlowe averaged 9.7 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game. She ended her playing career ranked second all-time at CSU in assists (396).

She earned her bachelor’s degree in Communications with a minor in Public Relations from CSU in 2012 and is currently working toward her master’s degree in Sports Management at Incarnate Word.
