Ryan Bragdon is no longer the head coach at DII Northwest Nazarene University. He has been replaced by John Hartman who was named as the interim head coach. Bragdon had been the head coach at NNU since 2013.
Oddly enough, there was no official announcement by the university about this move. Apparently Bragdon did not travel with the team for the past two road games, which prompted the Idaho Press-Tribune to reach out to NNU for comment. Athletic director Kelli Lindley said in a statement released to the Press-Tribune Wednesday that said, “We have decided to go in another direction and Coach Bragdon is no longer the Head Coach. We believe this is in the best interest of our Women’s Basketball team and look forward to finishing the season strong.”
This is the second release of a coach this week without an official explanation from the school. Earlier this morning, Mississippi Valley State announced that Melvin Williams was now the acting coach, but never mentioned release of former head coach Elvis Robinson (New Coach at MVSU).
More on this one as we hear it.
