Virginia Tech head women’s basketball coach Dennis Wolff announced the addition of Nicole Krusen to the staff as video coordinator for the 2015-16.
“We are happy to welcome Nicole to the Hokie Family,” Wolff said. “She was a good college player at Loyola Maryland and continued her career playing pro and coaching in Ireland last year. I’ve known her dad for a long time as he has spent many years coaching in the Mid-Atlantic, and I know Nicole will be a great addition to our staff.”
Krusen spent last season playing at the National University Ireland Galway, where she helped the team to an undefeated regular season while averaging 21.9 points per game, earning a spot as a member of the Irish Colleges Select Team. In addition, Krusen competed for the NUIG Mystics while in Ireland, averaging 15.9 points per game.
Prior to her year overseas, Krusen was a four-year letterwinner at Loyola University Maryland, earning a starting spot during her junior and senior campaigns. In 2011, the team finished as runner-up in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference regular season and was tournament finalist to earn a spot in the 2011 WNIT. Krusen is the all-time leader in school history in 3-point field goals made with 157 and holds the single-game record with seven. She is also the all-time leader in free throw percentage (85.9 percent) and second in number of games played (123).
Krusen spent her high school career at Georgetown Visitation Prep where she scored 1,638 career points, including 345 3-pointers.
The Rockville, Maryland native has served in a video coordinator capacity with Georgetown Prepatory boy’s basketball team as well as interning with Loyola University’s Maryland’s Athletics Marketing Department.
