Wynn Named Notre Dame of Maryland University Interim Head Basketball Coach

The Notre Dame of Maryland University Department of Athletics announced today Tom Gizzi had resigned as the Women’s Basketball Head Coach.

Gizzi led the Gators the past three season, helping earn the programs first trip to the Colonial States Athletic Conference postseason last year.  In the 2018-19 season, the Gators finished 13-13 overall and 10-6 in CSAC play.  At the conclusion of the season, now sophomore Daija Fitchett, junior Adrianna Fletcher, and graduate Justine Mudiay were named to postseason teams.  Gizzi stepped down as the head coach citing personal and professional reasons.

Serving as an assistant coach for the past two season, Kalin Wynn will assume the role as Interim Head Coach for the Gators in their 2019-20 season.  Assistant Coach, Candice Henricks will remain on the coaching staff, while the program will add recent graduate, Zaria Comer to the staff.

“We are happy to welcome Coach Wynn into his new position for the Gators,” said Director of Athletics Renee Bostic.  “We have high expectations for this year’s team under his leadership.”
