WVU Tech adds Osborne as Assistant WBB Coach

Head coach Ashley Brown and the WVU Tech’s women’s basketball team are excited to announce the addition of Kenny Osborne to the coaching staff this season as the assistant coach.

“I’m happy to welcome Kenny to the Golden Bear women’s basketball program,” Kenneth Howell, Director of Athletics, said. “His experience and skill set combined with his passion for teaching the game will make him a strong asset to the coaching staff.”

At the helm of Concord, Osborne won over 300 games and led the Mountain Lions to three consecutive 20-win seasons before stepping away as head coach at the end of the 2021-2022 campaign. He coached the first two All-Americans in the program’s history at Concord. Osborne also earned WBCA Atlantic Regional Coach of the Year honors (2018-2019) after leading the Mountain Lions to 23 wins, a program record.

Osborne graduated from Glenville State University earning a degree in physical education before getting his master’s degree in the same major from Radford University.

The Golden Bears finished 16-13 overall last season and held a 9-8 record in the River States Conference.
