Mayer Women’s Basketball head coach Maureen Magarity announced Tuesday that Jackie Fetsko has been hired as an assistant coach. Fetsko is the third addition to Magarity’s staff since she was named head coach on April 13, 2026.
“We are thrilled to add Jackie to our Catamount family,” said Magarity. “She will make a positive impact on our program and community!”
Fetsko joins the Catamounts after spending the 2025-26 season as an assistant coach at Saint Michael’s College. She helped the Purple Knights to the Northeast 10 Conference semifinals for the first time since 1992 and the program’s first NCAA Division II Tournament appearance. Saint Michael’s finished the regular season among the NE10’s top five teams in points per game, scoring margin, three-point field goals made, rebounds, and steals.
“I am so excited and beyond grateful for this opportunity,” said Fetsko. “Coaching high-level basketball has always been a dream of mine, and when Coach Magarity called, I knew it was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. It’s been incredible working alongside and learning from this staff. The future is bright for Vermont women’s basketball, and I’m honored to be a part of this program. The hard work this team puts in every day is truly inspiring, and I have no doubt we’ll make you proud.”
A five-year member of the Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania-Lock Haven women’s basketball program, Fetsko played in 100 career games and averaged 4.9 points and 4.2 rebounds per contest. She was also a two-time Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Scholar-Athlete and served as a women’s volleyball graduate assistant during the 2023-24 academic year. Fetsko earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 2023 before completing her master’s degree in business administration in 2024.
Before her time with the Bald Eagles, Fetsko was a four-year starter and team captain at Marion Center High School. She earned two All-Conference selections, was a three-time All-Gazette honoree, a two-time Tip-Off All-Tournament Team selection, and a three-time Christmas All-Tournament Team pick. Fetsko surpassed the 1,000-point milestone during her high school career.
