University of New Hampshire women’s basketball head coach Megan Shoniker has announced the hiring of Corey Boilard as the program’s associate head coach.
Boilard arrives in Durham following nine seasons as the head women’s basketball coach at Saint Anselm College, where he built one of the Northeast’s most respected Division II programs and compiled a 127-97 overall record. Across 14 seasons as a collegiate head coach at Saint Anselm and Johnson & Wales University (R.I.), Boilard has amassed 211 career victories and a reputation for developing student-athletes, building championship-caliber teams, and fostering a culture of excellence.

During his tenure at Saint Anselm, Boilard guided the Hawks to six winning seasons, including back-to-back winning campaigns in 2024-25 and 2025-26. His teams earned NCAA Tournament appearances in 2019 and 2025, highlighted by a historic 2018-19 season in which Saint Anselm captured its first East Region Championship and advanced to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight. The Hawks finished 22-10 that season, recording the program’s highest win total in nearly 25 years.
Boilard also led Saint Anselm to one of the most successful stretches in program history. The Hawks posted consecutive 20-win seasons in 2018-19 and 2019-20, with the 2019-20 squad advancing to the Northeast 10 Conference Championship game and earning an NCAA Tournament berth before the championship was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Saint Anselm climbed as high as No. 4 in the national rankings that season.
Under Boilard’s leadership, numerous student-athletes earned conference, regional, and national recognition. Most recently, Tatum Forbes was named the 2025-26 Northeast 10 Conference Player of the Year, D2CCA East Region Player of the Year, and a WBCA Division II All-America Honorable Mention selection. In 2024-25, Melanie Hoyt earned NE10 Player of the Year honors and was recognized as the D2CCA East Region Player of the Year and a WBCA All-America Honorable Mention selection. Other notable honorees under Boilard’s guidance included NE10 Players of the Year Shannon Ryan (2020) and Peyton Steinman (2022), along with Freshmen of the Year Macy Spinks (2021) and Gabby Turco (2022).
Prior to Saint Anselm, Boilard transformed the Johnson & Wales women’s basketball program into a regional contender. The New Hampshire native compiled an 84-52 record over five seasons, including a 62-22 mark during his final three years. His teams earned two NCAA Tournament appearances and set program records for victories in a season. In 2015-16, he was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference Coach of the Year after leading the Wildcats to a 24-4 record, a conference tournament championship, and an NCAA berth.
Boilard’s coaching experience also includes assistant coaching stops at Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Plymouth State University, as well as serving as head coach at Bow High School.
A former student-athlete at Keene State College, Boilard was a two-year letterwinner and a member of the Owls’ 1998 Little East Conference regular-season championship team. He graduated from Keene State with a bachelor’s degree in physical education with a specialization in health fitness and promotion.
