Truman State staff update

Head Women’s Basketball Coach Amy Eagan has announced that Adam Tandez will serve as her assistant coach and Sarah Eagan will be the team’s graduate assistant coach for the upcoming season.

Tandez has been part of Eagan’s coaching staff since 2011 and was hired to be her assistant coach when she returned to Truman this past summer.

Tandez spent the 2011-12 season at Ashford (Iowa) as the team’s graduate assistant coach and was elevated the following season to assistant coach for the Saints. He served as the recruiting coordinator for Ashford Women’s Basketball and was responsible for signing the 18th-ranked prospect out of the state of Wisconsin. He worked with the post players and oversaw the weight room and the team’s lifting sessions. The Saints have also been ranked in the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Academic Top 25 the past two seasons.

While attending Marquette (Wisc.) University, Tandez started and directed the women’s club basketball team and was a volunteer assistant coach for Divine Savior Holy Angles High School in Milwaukee. He was a camp instructor at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay’s Lady Phoenix Junior Elite Camp, DePaul (Ill.) Women’s Basketball Camp, Five-Star Basketball Camps and Adidas sponsored AAU Basketball camps. He was the head coach of the Wisconsin Impact, a 17U AAU girls’ team and worked two seasons in game operations for the Milwaukee Bucks of the NBA.

Tandez is a member of the WBCA and on the national convention advisory group. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Marquette in 2011 and his master’s degree from Ashford in Organizational Management in 2012.

Sarah Eagan will serve as a graduate assistant coach for the Truman women this season. Eagan played collegiately at William Woods (Mo.) University where she was a member of the 2010-11 squad that posted a 30-5 overall record and was regular season and tournament champions of the American Midwest Conference.

Eagan was an all-academic selection for the Owls after transferring to William Woods from Mineral Area Community College.

Eagan earned Clarence Cannon all-Conference honors and was a member of three conference championship teams at South Shelby High School. She was named to the McDonald’s Quincy Herald Whig All-State team and Northeast Missouri All-Star. She also lettered in softball for three seasons and varsity track one year.
