Linda Cimino, Dartmouth’s Gail Koziara Boudreaux ’82 and Family Head Coach of Women’s Basketball, has announced the hiring of Anh-Dao Tran as an assistant coach. Tran joins Cimino, along with fellow assistants Robert Isme and Kerri Reaves, to lead the Big Green in the 2023-24 season.
“I’m excited to complete our staff with the hiring of Anh-Dao Tran,” Cimino said. “She has a diverse coaching background and has Ivy League experience, which will help our entire staff. Like the Dartmouth women’s basketball alumni network, the Adelphi community is close-knit and I’m thrilled to bring along someone from my Adelphi family to our staff. She’s a dynamic person with a tremendous work ethic and I’m excited for her to get on the court and work with our players.”
Tran joins the Big Green after spending the past two seasons as the women’s basketball operations coordinator at Brown. She was previously the athletic director at Besant Hill School of Happy Valley in Ojai, California, where she oversaw eight varsity sports and mentored 24 coaches, in addition to coaching the boys’ and girls’ varsity basketball teams for one year each.
A Webster, Massachusetts native, Tran began her impressive collegiate playing career at the University of New Haven before transferring to Adelphi, Cimino’s alma mater, where she powered the Panthers to their first-ever NE-10 title on her way to garnering a WBCA All-America Honorable Mention in 2014-15.
Tran played professionally in Germany for a year following her time as a collegiate standout. She was also a member of the Vietnamese Women’s National Team that won gold at the 2022 ABL 3×3 International Cup and silver in the three-on-three event during the 2021 Southeast Asian Games.
Tran earned her bachelor’s degree in biology in 2014 before receiving her master’s in public health in 2017, both from Adelphi.
