Tiffany Smart Named Head Women’s Basketball Coach at College of Mount Saint Vincent

Tiffany Smart has begun her tenure as Associate Director of Athletics and Head Women’s Basketball coach at the College of Mount Saint Vincent, as announced by Director of Athletics and Recreation, Barima Yeboah.

Coach Smart comes to the Mount after spending the past four years as an Assistant Coach at Seton Hall University, where she helped the Pirates land dozens of top-100 recruits.

“I am extremely excited to be a part of the Mount family,” said coach Smart. “It is truly an honor to assist in leading an athletic department, as well as leading the Women’s Basketball program.”

Along with her role as head women’s basketball coach, Smart will serve as Associate Director of Athletics, where she will serve as a direct report for several of the Mount’s 15 programs.

During her tenure in South Orange, Smart helped raise the Pirates performance in the classroom from a 2.4 team GPA in the year before she arrived to a 3.3 this past season. Under her guidance Seton Hall was recognized for 16 All-Conference Academic Award winners.

“Academically, the Mount’s distinguished reputation, creates an ideal atmosphere to groom well-rounded student-athletes,” said coach Smart. “At my core, developing positive young adults has always been a passion of mine, so the opportunity to become a part of a culture that CMSV encompasses, mirrors and embodies that of my own.”

Coach Smart will take over a program that has qualified for postseason play each of the last four years, with 10 players returning from last year’s team.

“The team has had success in the past and my goal is to establish a winning culture, focusing on athletics and academics,” said coach Smart. “We will be the best in the classroom and on the court.”
