St. Mary’s College of Maryland head women’s basketball coach C.K. Calhoun has been placed on leave by the college.
The athletic department released the following statement to The Calvert Recorder:
“C.K. Calhoun, the head coach of St. Mary’s College of Maryland’s women’s basketball team, is on leave effective November 13. There is no further information the college can provide. Matt Howerton, assistant men’s basketball coach, will serve as interim women’s head basketball coach. Howerton brings over five years of collegiate coaching experience to the position. We look forward to cheering the team on in their games this week.”
Calhoun was hired as the head coach at St. Mary’s back in 2017. The Seahawks went 15-35 over her first two seasons at the helm, and are currently 0-6 this year. Calhoun has also been the head coach at Shenandoah University, and an assistant at Lafayette College, Randolph-Macon College, and Marymount University.Tagged with: DIII St. Mary's (MD)
