Rieger Joins Ole Miss Women’s Basketball Staff as Director of Operations

Ole Miss women’s basketball head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin has announced the addition of industry veteran Dana Rieger to her staff as the Director of Operations.

Rieger owns nearly two decades of experience working in the administrative ranks of collegiate and professional athletics, most recently serving the previous nine years as the Director of Operations at the University of Cincinnati from 2009-18.

“Dana is exactly the type of person I need on staff to keep everything running smoothly,” McPhee-McCuin said. “She is experienced, organized and extremely competent. She has made a significant impact on me already in her short time here, and there is no doubt in my mind that she will be a positive impact to the program as a whole.”

Throughout her career, Rieger has accumulated experience in coaching, sales, marketing, development, alumni relations, compliance, event planning and administrative duties. She came to Cincinnati after four seasons at UConn from 2005-09, first as an Assistant Director of Development (2005-07) and then as the Executive Assistant of the Director of Athletics (2007-09).

Prior to UConn, Rieger spent a season at the University of Hartford as Assistant Athletics Director for External Relations (2004-05), where she was responsible for sponsorship, ticket sales, licensing, supervision of Hartford’s sports information and ticket office staffs, and administration of pep band, cheerleading and dance team activities.

She spent four years in the golf industry, including three with the Greater Hartford Open from 2000-03, where she concentrated on sponsorship and hospitality sales.

Rieger received an associate’s degree from Concordia College in 1992, a bachelor’s from Albion College in 1994, and her master’s from Western Michigan in 1995.

Following her graduation from Western Michigan, Rieger joined the Broncos women’s basketball staff as an assistant coach, where she handled summer camps and marketing, travel, and development. After a year of coaching, she joined the Western Michigan development office, where she spent two years and assisted with the merger of the athletic fund and the university foundation.

She also had stints at Rutgers (1998-99) in the development field and Springfield College (1999-2000), where she handled compliance as well as club sports oversight and community outreach programs.
