University of Missouri Women’s Basketball head coach Robin Pingeton announced the addition of Preston Beverly as an assistant coach on Wednesday.

Beverly brings over 15 years of experience to the staff as he joins Missouri following two seasons as the head coach of Evangel where he led the Valor to consecutive appearances in the Heart Tournament Quarterfinals.

During his tenure, Beverly coached five All-Conference players.

Prior to his joining Evangel, Beverly served as the head coach 16U and 14U Nike Girls EYBL Teams in New York. He also served as an assistant coach for the 17U team where he coached four ESPN Top 50 recruits.

Before his stint on the prep circuit, Beverly was in the collegiate coaching ranks as an assistant coach at Hofstra University during the 2019-20 season.

We found someone that aligns with the core values of the program and displays a tireless work ethic to develop athletes in all aspects of their life. He will be a tremendous addition to our team.”

From 2015-19, Beverly coached at Richard Bland College of William & Mary while also working as the assistant athletic director. He served as an assistant with the men’s program for three seasons before taking over the head role during the 2018-19 year.

During his time, Beverly coached seven all-region athletes and the Stateman to a final four appearance, two district championships, and a Region X Championship. 

He held previous coaching roles at Lincoln College of New England, Nyack College, and Bowdoin College.

While at Lincoln, Beverly built a program that averaged 20 wins per season and compiled a .727 winning percentage. He guided them to their first-ever NJCAA National Tournament and was named District Coach of the Year. 

Beverly graduated from Virginia Military Institute in 2006 with a degree in computer science and a minor in psychology and math, reaching the rank of S-6 Lieutenant. 

He and his wife Danielle reside in Columbia, Mo. and have three children.
