North Georgia Women’s Basketball Adds Skidgel as Graduate Assistant

Head University of North Georgia women’s basketball coach Buffie Burson has announced the addition of former Nighthawk Amber Skidgel as the new graduate assistant for the program.

In her three years in a Nighthawk uniform, Skidgel surpassed 1,000 points while helping lead UNG to back-to-back PBC Regular Season and Tournament Championships, consecutive NCAA regional finals appearances and the program’s first NCAA Southeast Regional Championship in the 2018-19 season.

The Bethlehem, Georgia, native is second in program history in career threes made while holding the top spot for threes made in a single season, knocking down 81 in her senior campaign.

In addition to her accolades on the court, Skidgel was a three-time PBC Presidential Honor Roll Bronze Scholar and a two-time PBC All-Academic Team member.
