Chicago State head women’s basketball coach Tiffany Sardin announced today the hiring of Nanyanka (Nan) Moore as an assistant coach.
“I am fortunate to have Nan as an addition to our program,” Sardin said. “Nan’s passion and commitment to developing young people beyond the court fits well with the vision we have at CSU. I am looking forward to seeing the positive impact she is going to make on the young women in and those coming into our program.”
Moore joins the Cougars after two seasons (2018-20) as an assistant coach at Hamilton College (Clinton, NY) where she helped the Continentals improve from 10-12 in 2018-19 and a last place conference finish to a fifth place record in 2019-20, finishing 15-10 while earning a conference tournament appearance for the first time in five years. Moore helped develop New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) All Conference performer Kelcie Zarle and two of the conference’s top shooters, Carly O’Hern and Marie Steiner and undersized but dominant post players, Elizabeth Arnold and Kayla Glemaud.
Prior to her time at Hamilton College, Moore was an assistant coach at Roberts Wesleyan College for one season (2017-18) where she helped lead the Redhawks to a 20-10 record, including 13-5 in the East Coast Conference, and the semifinals of the 2018 conference championship. She coached five players to all-conference team honors (Emily Miller, Saso Nady, Necedah James, Lucy Covley and Taya Andrews).

I look forward to assisting coach Sardin and being an example at Chicago State to help grow and develop future examples of the world.”
Moore got her start in college coaching at Claflin University (Orangeburg, SC), as a graduate assistant (2013-15) before being named a full-time assistant (2015-17). Claflin racked up 60 victories in her four seasons with the Panthers where she worked with all conference players Shaniece Brown, Uniqua Mitchell, Shakiema Ravenell and Joclyn Ramos. She also helped recruit, mentor and develop Junior College All Americans Jahira Smith, Shaniece Brown, Jameelah Thalley and Bianca Finnessee.
Moore played her collegiate basketball at Division I Purdue University Fort Wayne from 2005 to 2009. She went on to play professionally for the Flint Monarchs of the Global Women’s Basketball Association for four years.
The Detroit native graduated from Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) with a degree in mass media and public communication (2009). Moore earned her master’s degree in business management from Claflin (2016).
