ULM head women’s basketball coach Scotty Fletcher announced two additions to his staff for the 2025-26 season on Monday (May 12). Amy Pryor comes from George Washington, where she spent a season as the recruiting coordinator, while Mikayla Etienne comes from a season at Pearl River CC with Fletcher.
Amy Pryor, Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator
Amy Pryor arrives from George Washington University, where she held the role of assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the 2024-25 season. With the guidance of Pryor, George Washington recruited Gabby Reynolds, named to the Atlantic-10 All-Rookie Team by averaging 10.5 points per game. The Revolutionaries posted a 13-18 record in the 2024-25 season, advancing to the second round of the A-10 Conference Tournament.
“I am so excited and fired up to welcome Coach Pryor to the Warhawk family as my recruiting coordinator,” said head coach Scotty Fletcher. “From the first time I spoke with Coach Pryor I knew she was someone I wanted to work with. Her ability to connect with recruits and her connections allow us to reach future Warhawks immediately. She is all about the student-athlete experience and her background as a player and coach speak volumes to who she is as a person. She is a winner and will be a huge asset to our university, community, and the ULM women’s basketball program.”
Prior to her time at George Washington, Pryor spent two seasons at Eastern Michigan, serving as Director of Basketball Operations in 2022-23 before transitioning to assistant coach in 2023-24. Pryor assisted in scouting, running practice and running a mentorship program for the Eagles in her time as assistant coach.
Pryor has also had a stop at West Mesquite High School, where she served as the assistant coach in 2020-21 before stepping in to become the interim head coach. She remained in this role for the rest of the season, tasked with coordinating team travel and providing team academic support along with her duties as head coach.
Prior to her time at West Mesquite, Pryor was the assistant head coach at Eastern New Mexico from 2011-13 and started her coaching career at Northern Oklahoma College in 2010. She also worked in a strength and conditioning role, developing players offensively.
As a player, Pryor spent time at Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa, Oral Roberts and completing her collegiate career at Oklahoma Baptist. At Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa, she led the program in field goals made.
Pryor earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology from Oklahoma Baptist in 2010.
Mikayla Etienne, Assistant Coach/Director of Player Development
Mikayla Etienne joins the staff after spending a season as an assistant coach at Pearl River Community College under Scotty Fletcher. In the 2024-25 season, Etienne helped guide the Wildcats to a 25-3 record–the fewest losses recorded in program history–and a MACCC regular season championship.
“Coach Etienne is another huge addition for our staff,” said head coach Scotty Fletcher. “She was vital to us winning another conference championship at Pearl River. She is an elite player development coach and has the ability to connect with recruits while developing our players on and off the court. Her ties to Ouachita Parish will pay dividends to the growth of our program as we establish ourselves in the community. I thought it was very important to have someone on my staff from Louisiana. Her passion for her city and state will be on full display daily!”
Prior to her coaching career, Etienne played basketball at Panola Junior College, Southwest Mississippi Community College, Mississippi Valley State and Nicholls. In her collegiate debut at Panola JC, she averaged 6.6 points, three rebounds and 3.9 assists per game in the 2018-19 season. From 2019-21, Etienne spent two seasons at Southwest Mississippi Community College. After missing the 2019-20 season due to injury, Etienne earned NJCAA Division I All-American Honorable Mention following the 2020-21 season. Etienne averaged 14.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and three assists in 2020-21 in a season that also saw her named All-Region 23 and First Team All-MACCC.
The Monroe, La. native then spent two seasons at Mississippi Valley State where she started 20 games for the Devilettes during the 2021-22 season, averaging 11.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. She was an in-game commentator for the Mississippi Valley men’s and women’s basketball broadcasts during the 2022-23 season. Etienne concluded her playing career at Nicholls, averaging 8.6 points and 2.3 rebounds per game in the 2023-24 season, earning her recognition as a finalist for Southland Conference Newcomer of the Year.
The hiring of Etienne acts as a homecoming for the assistant coach, who was a previous standout at Ouachita Parish High School. She was named First Team All-State, All-Parish, All-District and 5A All-State Honorable Mention as a senior.
Etienne earned an associate’s degree in physical education from Southwest Mississippi CC and a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from Mississippi Valley State.
