Lipscomb adds former Bruin to staff

The Lipscomb women’s basketball team will welcome Natalie Jarrett to the Bison staff as a new assistant coach.

Jarrett was previously an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB).

“I am incredibly excited and honored to be joining Coach Brown and his staff,” Jarrett said. “His extensive coaching resume and lineage which he derived from speaks to the dividends of his leadership.

“I am confident in Coach Brown’s vision, admire his passion and look forward to contributing to the future of the program. I have a great deal of respect for Coach Brown, and I am eager to be part of the program and mission of Lipscomb University.”

Jarrett suited up for UCLA for four years as a player, where she took part in an NCAA Tournament berth, before stepping into the coaching realm.

During her time at UCSB, Jarrett helped the Gauchos receive an NCAA Tournament bid and a Big West Conference title.

“We are excited to have Natalie join our program,” Lipscomb head coach Greg Brown said. “She brings the experience from Playing at UCLA to coaching both high school and collegiately. But, most importantly, it’s her desire to work with our players in their personal growth and development.”

Prior to her stint with UCSB, Jarrett spent time coaching at Chadwick School and for the Cal Sparks, one of the top AAU teams in California.

“I believe my experiences as both a player and coach will be invaluable at Lipscomb,” Jarrett said. “My past experiences as a player, will help me relate to players both on and off court. With my coaching experience having been on all levels; high school, AAU and college, I understand the importance of player development and building relationships.

“I also believe, having crossed over all levels, I understand the adjustment it takes for each player entering the college level.”
