Kerry Cremeans Resigns as Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Denver

As the Denver women’s basketball program enters its offseason, University of Denver Vice Chancellor for Athletics & Recreation and Ritchie Center Operations Peg Bradley-Doppes announced today that Kerry Cremeans will not be returning as the team’s head coach. Cremeans tendered her resignation earlier today upon the expiration of her current contract.

“We thank Kerry for her time at DU and wish her all the best in her future endeavors,” Bradley-Doppes said. “She ran a clean program with integrity, which is something she should be proud of. The search for her replacement begins immediately. We are looking for an experienced, dynamic head coach who understands the Front Range region as well as our culture, vision and the challenges that come along with coaching at the University of Denver.

“As always, the well-being of our student-athletes is our primary concern,” added Bradley-Doppes. “We have a plan in place for our staff to outline the expectations we have for maintaining their various responsibilities until a new head coach is hired.”

In her five seasons at the helm of the DU women’s basketball program, Cremeans posted an overall record of 42-109 and a record of 16-44 in Summit League play. The Pioneers did not record a winning season during her tenure at Denver.
