Athletic Director Kellen Zawadzki says, “I would like to thank John and his family for coming all the way up from Florida. We are really excited to have John on staff here at Cincinnati Christian University with his nation-wide recruiting ties and his connections with GBB. We think he can help carry our women’s basketball program for years to come. We look forward to his exciting new offensive style of play and what it brings to the conference.”

John comes to CCU from Florida State College at Jacksonville where he was the Assistant Coach for the Women’s Basketball program from 2013-2015 before taking over as the Athletic Director and Head Coach of the Women’s Basketball program this past year.

John’s former coaching experience includes Head Coach at John Jay College (2003-04); Patterson School in Lenoir, NC as the Head Coach and Athletic Director (2004-05); Head Coach at Notre Dame Prep in Fitchburg, MA (2005-07); Assistant Coach at Marshall University (2007-10); Columbia State Community College as the Head Coach (2010-12); Head Coach at Fisk University (2012-13) before his time at Florida State College at Jacksonville. Coach McGraw states the reason why he chose to take the position at CCU was because of the values, ideals and the vision of the school, athletic department and the administration as well the opportunity to work with student-athletes and give them an opportunity to grow and develop on and off the court.

John, his wife Elizabeth and sons Cameron, 10 & Brighton, 9 look forward to moving to the Cincinnati area.

A quote from Coach McGraw: “I look forward to working with the returning players and bringing in some talented newcomers. I think the opportunity to blend those 2 groups together will be exciting and I truly believe we are at the beginning of a successful period for CCU Women’s Basketball. The goal for the season is nothing less than a conference championship and a bid to the national tournament.”
