Iowa Wesleyan University is currently accepting applications for the position of Head Women’s Basketball Coach.  Iowa Wesleyan University, located in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa is a selective, private, undergraduate liberal arts institution affiliated with the United Methodist Church.  IW’s basketball tradition is a rich and historic one, and with its progression through the NCAA Division III membership process the University invites applicants who embrace the opportunity to build and maintain a successful program within that guiding philosophy.

The Head Women’s Basketball Coach is responsible for the leadership and administrative oversight of a team continuing the transition to NCAA Division III rules, regulations, and philosophy.  Program duties include but are not limited to: coaching, recruiting, retention, conditioning, practice, scheduling, budget oversight, promotion, and alumni relations.  Candidates should be able to demonstrate outstanding mentorship of players and assistant coaches, thorough knowledge of Division III recruiting strategies and rules, and a desire to create and sustain a successful Division III men’s basketball program within the SLIAC conference.  Depending upon qualifications, there will be a secondary duty within the athletic department.  Application review begins immediately and will continue until the position is filled.  Salary and benefits are competitive.

Qualifications for this position include a Bachelor’s degree in a related field with a Master’s degree preferred.  Additional requirements include prior successful coaching experience at the college or high school level, with preference for NCAA Division III experience.  Candidates should have knowledge and understanding of the academic environment of a liberal arts institution, and how intercollegiate athletics complements that environment.
