Description:

The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), a member of the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) invites applications for the position of Head Women’s Basketball Coach reporting to the Executive Director of Athletics. This is a twelve-month position residing in the Department of Athletics, Division of Student Affairs.

The Head Women’s Basketball Coach is responsible for all aspects of a competitive NCAA DIII program, including recruitment of qualified student-athletes, practice planning, player-development, budget management, fund-raising, alumni development, assistant coach oversight and an understanding of student-athletes’ commitment to academics. The position will include administrative responsibilities in addition to other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Athletics.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • College level coaching experience with an understanding of the values of a residential liberal arts education.
  • Certified in first aid, CPR and AED.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in coaching Women’s basketball at the collegiate level.
  • Strong knowledge, understanding of and ability to teach the skills and strategies of the sport of women’s basketball to build and maintain a competitive program.
  • Ability to inspire, direct and lead student-athletes and staff.
  • Ability to serve as a positive role model and mentor.
  • Strong knowledge and compliance with all NCAA, NJAC and College rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience successfully recruiting and yielding high achieving student-athletes.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • The ability to collaborate with other areas of the College and excellent communication, organizational and effective leadership skills are highly desirable.
  • Experience in athletic administration and developing alumni and community based relationships desired.
