Description:

The Coordinator of Player Development for Women’s Basketball will be assisting coaches and support staff in the overall operation of the Program. Duties include facility scheduling, oversight of student managers and male practice team, as well as coordination of tickets, parking and ball kids and other duties throughout the year.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate facilities for game and practice sessions.  Coordinate practice times for and address the needs of visiting teams.  Assist in the coordination of pregame meals and training table.  Inform department personnel of schedule and event changes.
  • Work directly with the Women’s Basketball Equipment Manager to schedule student managers for practice, competition, as well as opponent practice/shoot around.  Responsible for recruiting male practice players and coordinating their participation in team practices.  Assist equipment room personnel in scheduling ball kids for all home contests.
  • Assist in day-to-day operations with coaches and additional department staff members.  This may include but is not limited to the following.  Work collaboratively with Women’s Basketball Equipment Manager to set distribution schedule for team issued gear and equipment.  Work with student-athletes and coaching staff to select team equipment and ensure team/coaching staff needs are met.  Serve as community service lead to organize team community service efforts with various community partners (Seattle Children’s Hospital, Everett Austin Foundation, & Special Olympics).  Responsible for players, coaches, and staff tickets for both home and away games. Coordinate with ticket office staff for all games.  Assist the Director of Operations and coaching staff with on campus recruiting visits and distributed recruiting materials.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

    Compliance with the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA, the Pacific-12 Conference, the State of Washington, and any other governing body is of paramount importance to the University.  The overall responsibility of this position is for the successful operation of the program in full compliance with all such rules and regulations.  As a condition of employment the Employee shall be required to participate in rules education programs offered by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.

    REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school graduation and two years of experience playing, coaching, or working with a high school or collegiate level basketball program.

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience in an athletics environment.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work a variable schedule including evenings and weekends and travel with the team.

    PREFERRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
